» Pete Peterson is Tech Data’s new senior vice president of U.S. sales. Peterson joined the Clearwater computer distributor in 1996 as director of sales planning.

» Michael Storey has been hired as president of Neal Communities’ building division. He joined the Lakewood Ranch development company after 10 years as a division president at Taylor Morrison, a division of Wimpey PLC in Tampa.

» Two Tampa Bay colleges will have new leaders this summer: William D. Law Jr., president of Tallahassee Community College, has been chosen to replace the retired Carl Kuttler as president of St. Petersburg College. Kenneth Atwater, president of South Mountain Community College in Arizona, has been named president of Hillsborough Community College. Gwendolyn Stephenson, HCC’s previous president, retired June 30.

» After failing in his attempt to become the next president of St. Petersburg College, Rick Baker has landed a different job in higher education: The former mayor of St. Petersburg has been named to the newly created position of director of innovation partnerships at the University of South Florida. Part of his job will be to create partnerships between USF and research corporations. His $225,000-a-year salary will be paid for by the USF Research Foundation.
